im confused..

ok i might confuse you people too but here i go

i was thinking about putting my 87 t2 tranny on my 86 na because i busted a bolt on my tranny and its just been a bitch driving, i thought it would be simple to just swap it but i go and re-searche and people say i need the whole t2 clutch assembly stuff, so then i decided not to and just gonna drive w/it actin like a bitch...

now im thinking about doing a t2 swap since i might be getting a FD soon so i can put my FC on jack stands and do a swap, so i do re-search again and when i read the lists of whats needed to do a swap, t2 clutch assembly is not on the list, soooo im like ok i dont need the clutch assembly to do a na to t2 swap but when i wanna just swap in my t2 tranny into my na i need the clutch assembly??? sorry kinda confused here can someone clear this up for me thanks

If you want to use a TII engine and tranny in a N/A car, your clutch/flywheel assembly is not a concern.

If you want to use a TII engine with an N/A tranny, you have to use a N/A flywheel and clutch. The TII flwheel and clutch are too big around to fit in the N/A tranny bellhousing.

ok, here is the deal. if you are using an n/a motor then match the flywheel with the SERIES of the motor. if you have an S4 na motor, use an S4 TII flywheel... S5 na motor, use an S5 TII flywheel, but USE THE TII CLUTCH ASSEM.

does that clear it up?
