Ok im bored, so...
BAC - Bypass Air Control Valve - Adjusts idle air to compensate for extra engine loads (A/C, power steering)
TPS - Throttle Position Sensor - Self-explanitory, tells the computer where the throttle is for a reference point for fuel enrichment.
MAF - Mass Air Flow Sensor - measures the amount of air entering the intake.. anouther reference point for the computer
ACV - Air Control Valve - sends air to the cats from the air pump.. emmisions crap
CAS - Crank Angle Sensor - replaces distributor in 12As, THE reference point for ignition
EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature - too high = lean, too low = rich. Cant give exact numbers, wish SOMEONE WOULD
WOT - Wide Open Throttle - Do I really need to say more?
A/F - Air/Fuel ratio - Should be around 14.7:1 for economy, 12.5-13:1 for power. 15-16:1 is LEAN
IC, TMIC, FMIC, SMIC - IC is intercooler, a radiator that cools the intake charge on turbocharged vehicles. Top mount (stock TII), Front mount (best place for cooling, requires hacking and cutting) Not sure what S is...side mount? Never heard of one.
EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve - Circulates some of the exhaust gases. More emissions crap. Some argue that the inert exhaust gases cool the combustion chamber temps, which is true, but the negative effects of the valve getting plugged off by carbon is MUCH worse.
PD - Pulsation Dampner - Dampens the pulsations from the fuel pump. They tend to leak and start engine fires. Some would say they are useless, and they can be replaced with a banjo bolt. Others say they are necessary. For $125 for a new one, I say Banjo it
PS - power steering
TID - Turbo Inlet Duct - runs between the airbox and compressor on turbocharged engines
I hope someone reads all of this dammit!!!!
