Uh... that's not an idling problem. That's not even an idle.

What year is it?

There's a strong possibility that your automated warmup bypass valve is sticking open - it's supposed to kick the car up to 3000 RPM or so on startup.

Disconnect at least one wire from your radiator water temp switch, lower left corner, then try her again...If she doesn't do it again, it's electrical (ECU)...If she does, it's something else...

Are you talking about the air bypass solenoid, Russ? That guy doesn't come on until 17 seconds after start, and then only when she's cold...

Whichever solenoid is tied to the automated warmup system. I'm still a bit fuzzy on where each bypass is located.

As I understand it, the ECU kicks her into the 3K rpm for a period, then let's the fast idle cam take over, until she warms up...If idle happens to go beyond 1500 at that point, the ECU will cut fuel to bring her back down...I'm guessing the BAC is active during this time (but not used), and the air bypass relay & solenoid will kick in 17 seconds after startup, if the water thermo sensor is telling the ECU that the coolant temp is under 63 or so...

Something like that...
