If it's completely stock it seems like there's a problem with the thermowax setup on the TB. Normally it should start and rev to about 3K and drop to normal speed. If it's not stock, I'd check all the linkage and the slack in the throttle cable to make sure it's not hanging up on anything.

I agree with Sonic. It definatly sounds like the warmup system on the TB. Its the only thing I can think of that could malfuction and create this sort of problem. Do a search for the factory service manual on here, print it out, and you will have all the info you could need at your fingertips while working on the car cause the TB tends to get complicated (to me) and it sure beats running back to the PC for info.

Ok, starting it in neutral the car should rev to about 3k rpm initially and then fall down to operating temp, chances are like I said the thermowax is not working properly. Basically if you remove the intercooler and look down at the throttle linkage, you'll see some coolant lines running to a peice bolted underneath, it has a little arm that sticks up out of it, that's the thermowax setup. To check it basically I suggest getting the FSM and going through all of that as far as verifying it's working/set right.

Check for vacuum leeks and the thermo-wax, even with those mods the thermo-wax is going to be your leading problem.

Ok just got around to checking out some thing on the car i think it's the thermowax. Becouse when i lift up on the ajusting screw at the thermowax the idle go to about 800- 900 rpm the little plunger on the thermowax is not popping up when the engine warms up. So i turned the screw most the way in till the rpm were at about 800. I was wondering if i could leave it like that as a temp fix or do i need to do something right a way. Thanks Tony

how many miles on the rebuild? the low idle could be the engine still needing some mileage to build a good compression.
