it depends on ambient temps, but with a stock FD IAT sensor in a greddy TB elbow with Greddy 3 row FMIC I was seeing about 45 C on 90+ degree days. The stock IAT sensors are not very responsive. You won't see a real time increase in IAT temp after just one pull.

80-90F day = ~30C during cruise

same ambient temp = 55C after 10 minutes of beating @15psi (GT3574)

Same ambient temp with water injection on = 23-28C after 10 minutes of beating at 15-18psi

Godspeed FD front mount (behind rebar, custom mounted) GM AIT sensor in TB elbow....

During the winter here on my old FMIC I could get as low as 39deg and reach 53deg on a 3rd gear pull, in the summer on 21psi, I could get up to 153deg on a 3rd gear pull. Hence that being my "old" FMIC.

the positioning of the sensor and the design of the sensor play such a role in the reading... for instance, if you sand the plastic insulator off the FD IAT sensor it will read 5-10 degrees hotter if it's located in the throttlebody elbow, but it will respond faster to changes in boost. Some people relocate the IAT sensor to the FMIC outlet.

On my friend's FD with Greddy FMIC, his intake temps are about 60C during cruisewith 85-90 degrees F ambient temp. But the FD IAT is located under the UIM stock, which is a really shitty location.

in 90F weather, i see around 105-110F cruising. It usually drops about 5-10F in boost, 10-15psi on a BNR, 20x9" ebay core. I have a cold air box, when i take it out temps go up about 20F.

There was a thread where someone posted up a log with the stock intercooler, but i couldnt find it.. i think temps would go up like 20 degrees in boost

Tips?

Under tray/ducting (unless it was removed for pictures) and an intake to pick up air that hasn't steamed off the back of the radiator

Nice setup though

cold air box and heat shield for the LIM.
done and done.....
i normally see 85-100F from cruise to 10LBS of boost with ambient temps in the 90's
im hoping for a 7-10 drop after a cold box and heat shield.....

Is that the FMIC setup i sold you? I see you installed it further up front than I originally had it mounted in my car. I like the way that turned out man, very cool. I have been so tempted to buy another ebay kit and go FMIC again myself, if I do I might use your positioning.

The little bits of bumper support that are left there, do the actually support anything since you cut them?

hey keep me up to date on that! that would be hard for me to make a heat shield since my turbo sits so close to LIM.

yea well i keep them when i was trying to keep the stock fogs but it came too much of a hassle so i got rid of the bumper support ends and fogs

now i gotta figure out what to do with the intake.

Thats pretty gnarly ...I like cooler AIT while in full boost. Hell, cooler than cruising temps.
