I think I am screwed with RacingBeat products!! HELP!!

I recently purchased 3 of the 5 components for the complete exhaust (turbo back) system. I have the Ypipe and the mufflers. I need the downpipe and the presilencer.

The downpipe is still in stock from racingbeat ($125), but the presilencer is not even being made anymore!!! They are still selling the presi with the complete kit but not seperatly. OH NO!!! What do I do? Racingbeat suggested I use a muffler, and Rotary Performance said use either a gutted cherry bomb or just a straight pipe. I dont want this to be too loud as I will be using this on the street.

So what do I do now?? I already have the Y pipe and mufflers. Now I have to do custom welding and fabrication. this bites! Good thing I have a welder, but what do I do?????

Don't Worry

Hey,
Just use straight pipe. You can buy the gasgets and the flanges from racing beat and get a section of straight pipe and weld it yourself. There is a small angle to it, but it works great........

How do I know this you ask? I have the exact same setup and it's not very loud. It's not a whisper, but it is not going to disturb the neighbors unless you gun it at full throttle. Those RB mufflers are Very good at quieting the noise. The pipe also flows MUCH better than the presilencer.

I don't have a photo of it at the moment, but I could maybe measure it for you if you want? Let me know,

Greg

rx7.com has the parts you need. I'm assuming you were not going to keep this smog legal if you were going to get a presilencer, so go with a racepipe.

What pipe did you use?? Does it sound good?? How much am I looking at for the pipe.... I guess I have to weld up a hanger to it as well..

OK at least I am not freaking out anymore.

I was just looking at a few mufflers from Flowmaster. they make a 3" thing, but I dono.

I called them.. They told me that they do not make any custom exhaust parts for second gen's anymore. I think the guy just wanted to go home for the weekend.

If I understand you correctly, you have the cat-back...y-pipe and two mufflers, right? If this is all you have, then RP sells, at least on their website they still have it, a pipe that connects the y-pipe to the mainfold.

Are these the correct parts you need?

EX810628 Bönez 2.5" Downpipe (replaces precat) $115
EX810622 Bönez 2.5" Main Cat Replacement Race Pipe $60

Have you checked with places that sell RB products to see if they haev any presilencers in stock? I think that the store here sells them www.rx7store.net & www.mazdatrix.com prolly sell them too. If not just buy some other time of universal silencer(borla?) and hook it up and straightpipe the rest.

jimmyv13;

I need the presilecer for the complete turbo back exhaust system. its 80mm in diameter.

Ryde_or_die - Mazdatrix is out of stock, rx7store.net isnt answering the phone.

I really do not want to go the route of a custom test pipe cause I'm not that great of a welder, and noone around my area will do it for me. Also loudness is sorta an issue because all my friends have mustang exhaust.
