I smell Coolant! heater blows Only hot!

hey, whats up guys.. car is running pretty well aside from some starting and idling problems.... haha, but when the car gets up to temperature and i'm driving her pretty good like on the highway or some spirited driving i smell coolant... i'm pretty sure it has to do with a coolant leak around the heater core perhaps? and somehow the car ONLY blowing hot even when the logicon is off-- i believe these 2 items are related?

IF anyone has any info that would be great!

nah, carpet is dry... ah just idling high and under 1500 it doesn't like to idle that much... i'm going to clean the BAC and reset the TPS tomorrow and check it for dead spots, I think its just a really really small leak and i can just smell it is all

Choice 1) Keep looking for the leak.
Choice 2) Flush the cooling system & refill it with a dose of "barrs leak" or "block weld" & keep looking for the leak.
Choice 3) Install a length of heater hose to bypass the heater core. (crude, but effective)

Good places for a leak to hide:
1) The 3/8" coolant line form the rear iron under the UIM to the TB.
2) The heater hose connection under the oil filter
3) The water pump shaft seal. (may dry up before you can see it at the weep hole under the pump)
