On a whim, checked out what RX7 stuff was going on, and there was an auction for this RX7 Club of America Jacket I've alway wanted. Brand new, never worn, still in wrapper, last offered in 1986. About 5 minutes to go in the auction at the time. And it was even my XL size. If you have any of the RX7 Club of America magazines, it's the Executive Jacket they offered. Has RX-7 Club Logo on Front and Mazda down right sleeve. Jacket is all Black with Silver piping and embrodery.

I got it for $51.50 (Club member price was $100). Woulda been $30, but someone tried to snipe it from me the last two seconds (my bid hit with 5 seconds to go) of the auction, but fell short by 35 cents.

I'm wearing it to the next So Cal 7 meeting, I don't care if it's 100 degrees out!

I got this jacket from my old man. They gave it away the first year they sold the RX-3 in the US .. he bought one brand new and has had the jacket since. It's damn ugly .. but it will always have a place in my closet.

He said that damn car got about 8 MPG if you drove over 80, and the exhaust pipes needed rewelding about 10 times.. they always glowed red hot.

Actually, I submitted my bid during the last 4 seconds of the auction. The snipper submitted with 2 seconds left. Sheesh.

But, it is correct that this is how e-bay is played. At least if you really want it.

As to the RX3 Jacket. THAT should ABSOLUTELY be worn at next years 7Stock!! You'll have the Old Schoolers drooling big time!!

 

iv always felt that ebay is a place for sellers. It seems you can find stuff cheaper then what you can get it off of ebay for. But then again, some of those rare items are just hard to find.
