5th and 6th ports actuators.
Ok, i know that the S4's are operated by back pressure. But since i dont have a S4, that doesnt help me.
How EXACTLY do the actuators work on a S5? Iv heard its operated by the air pump, which is directed by the ACV. So if you run a free flowing exaust on a S5, will the 5th and 6th ports still open? or is backpressure still an issue?

back pressure is not an issue on the s5 cars, so yes you can run a free flowing exhaust.
You have the basics of how the VDI and 5th/6th ports work correct.

You say your car Is stock? Your existing problem Is probably due to the Auxilliary Ports being carbon locked, due to a lack of using them. Shame on you for not using them.
Only remedy Is to take out the complete Manifold and the sleeves. Soak them overnight with Castrol Super Clean first than give them a good scrubbing. This will ensure that your ports are restriction free.

Install them with the openingd AWAY from the center line of the engine. So that way when you depress the Actuator Rod, the openings WILL line up to the Imaginary center line.
IMO, Install them back In dry. No WD-40 nothing. In the long run, that will attract the carbon and prevent full range of motion of thr rods.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...okay what is the truth on the sleeves??? I know you will lose low end (very important since tq has a DRAMATIC effect on acceleration), but it's said that you will gain power on the high end. How drastic of a loss is it down low and how good of a gain up high? Now I'm hearing that you could lose power up high...what's the truth (no bullshit please)?
