i need the power to manual rack conversion link

i tried looking through the search results. but too many damn people just keep asking about the manual conversion.

**NOT THE FLYING MIATA ONE** that one is different, and you cant just plug the lines on your fc.

it was on a different forum and the guy welded something inside it so it didnt have any slop and cleaned it up real nice. there were a lot of pics too.. he did it the right way

Geez, that's a lot of work, I just swapped in a manual rack. Are they really that hard to find?

If so, I think I'll scavenge all the junk yard FCs in my area pulling the manual racks.

meh, most of the resistance in the power steering racks when de-powering them is from the fact that their lock-lock rate is different than the manual. all that work for a mnor result is a waste of time IMO. the proper way to de-power the power rack is to pitch it and install a manual rack... damn drifters who think they know it all.

From what I understand though is that when you depower a PS rack you get the same amt of angle, but with slightly less turning at the steering wheel. And that manual racks are “slow” an require more turns at the wheel to get to full lock..

Yes, my car will be used for sliding, yes im lame. But im a minimalist so the PS has to go :p

oh and not to mention, aside from the welding and your time and labor this conversion is freeeee.. its got a lot of good feedback with it too. so why not?

no its the way the many rack is clamped no one can find the clamps since their differnt than the PS ones

Plus from what ive read the properly depowered rack has more positive feedback than the manual rack…

then have fun with your week of working on the power steering rack for a little more positive feedback. i don't have a problem with my manual rack and i've driven all the different rack styles. for drifting most keep the power steering and put on angle rods to get more turn in. you'll get tired of any manual conversion while drifting very quickly unless your forearms are built like a rock.(i'm hardly a weakling and i wouldn't think of keeping my manual rack if i wanted to be competetive, especially in your early stages while learning to let the steering wheel and car sway/caster do all the work).

We will see what happens. And it wont take me a week. Maybe a day or two ;P

If I do a swap like an sr, then im pretty sure the ps has to go from reading skidzilla’s problem… but If I did something bigger like a 1.5j im pretty sure id need ps.

I would love to drive around on a converted rack and test it out, but no one else around here owns an fc. There all 40 kids… the only downside ive herd is when your driving 0-5mph. but when do you ever slide that slow?

plus my ps seems to be in and out. and its not worth it to fix me. id rather try something new.
