I need help on installing a new O2 sensor

I looked through the online manuals and found no help. Where is it located and how easy is it to install? Thanks.

Follow your exhaust back from the mtor. Once you find a big silver canister poking out of it, attached to one wire, you have located your O2 Sensor..

Its sticking out of the exhaust manifold. You might have to remove the heat shielding to get to it.

Look at the passenger side of the motor, lower corner, rear. Unplug wire, unscrew using special 02 socket, reinstall new one, plug the wire back in.

I dont know, maybe I have an overly simplistic view of life or something.

Neither, you rotate counterclockwise.

Expect it to be quite siezed. Sometimes it helps to do it with the manifold hot (expanded). Often the o2 sensor sockets won't get the old one out because they are weak due to the slit in the side. Cut off the wire and use a regular deep well socket to get it out, then use the o2 socket to reinstall.

Lol - Nicely put.
As stated, it rotates the same way as everything else (except propane tank valves....) Again, you're gonna have to put some muscle into it. If you happen to have a 6-point wrench, you can put it on there and whack on it with a hard rubber mallet.

Remember, PB Blaster is your friend. That stuff works wonders on stuck bolts, even better than WD-40.

don't you wish the previous owners, if you had, did regular maintainence of your car when they had it that way we wouldn't have to deal with with stuck O2 sensors, and fuel filters, and exhaust bolts. What a world that would be...Imagine that...

I guess I'm lucky, the previous owner too excellent maintenance. He also installed an aluminum flywheel, manual steering rack and did the 5-lug swap.....

Because replacing an 02 sensor is in the regular maintainence schedule and all..

So where does the wire from the O2 sensor connect to ? I believe its the ECU, but where exactly does it plug in?

I ask because my car has an O2 sensor but the wire hanging off of it isn't connected to anything (thus leading me to believe it doesn't work). I would just take it out, but who needs another exhaust leak
.

The wire on my S4 comes from the wiring harness near the engine ground under the UIM.

BAM! Confirmed in the FSM. The CIA needs at least two unrelated sources to confirm something, so I believe we can trust this information.
