Unhappy I messed up.

So everything is fine and dandy with my freshly rebuilt motor until I had to replace the alternator. In which I was in the middle of replacing when I screwed up big time. In my excitement on finally having my car back on the road and thinking this was a quick fix. I completely forgot to disconnect the battery cables and grounded out the alternator (which caused a very nice firework show in my face.) and popped my main fuse. I replaced the main fuse but that isn't all that was fried out in the light show. it also took out my my headlights. well I have my cluster light and my marker lights still but my headlights wont pop up and turn on. I checked retractor fuse in the engine bay but that was still intact. I've searched this issue but haven't come up with much. if someone could give me a push in the right direction it would be a big help. also it is a 91 S5.

Headlights by themselves would likely be the HEAD fuse in the engine bay. The other lights are on the BTN.

Check ALL your fuses. Inside and engine bay.

Ground the White/Blue wire at the Headlight relay and the lights should turn (not pop up but turn on). This will tell you where the source of your problem lies.

I was going to suggest examining the entrails of a goat but this way seems simpler.

double checked my fuses in the engine bay and sure enough the HEAD fuse was moved to the [/] slot as soon as I plugged it in and turned on the lights everything worked...was so happy I drove it down the road a few times lol thanks for the help but when they turned on it was a mixture of happy-ness and I'm so dumb.
