I hear "POP" but no flames

ok well at around 5000rpm in any gear when i let go of the gas it makes a pop sound, but i remember on my old set up when it popped there were flames coming, this set up doesnt have any ... ? im just wondering why?

my new set up 2.5 straight pipe
old set up 2.5 down pipe and 2.25 midpipe and exits

both are single outlets
i dont get it my new set up has less bends cuz my old one had a "S" in it too at the end where the axle back is. Any ideas how this is happening ? or how i cud get some flamage ?

You probably ARE throwing flames and just never see it. I only noticed my car was doing it once when it was really dark outside and I saw a wall behind me light up when I heard the pop

Sometimes there just isn't enough fuel to cause a flame to reach the end I guess. Try a higehr RPM

I can make that pop all day with my NA my setup is 3 inch pipe to dual 2 1/4 and rb mufflers, I think the mufflers on mine may stop some flame, i've thrown a few but my car will backfire when cold but throw no flames

if youve leaned the mixture then i dont think youll throw flames, i think if you left it on the factory fuel maps youd throw flames since it runs pretty rich on the top end.

Flames are cool and all but be careful, Flames+hole in exhaust= flaming exhaust hangers. It was kinda funny though

yeah flames are nothing more than big pops/afterburns. they simply lit and burnt out inside the pipes before getting al the way to the end where you can see the flame. either way its not something to worry about as long as the car runs fine.

go to 5.5k and let off and slowly back to 5500 and back and forth, we got mad flames on my friends TII that way. They would not POP, but catch on fire, like normal fire going up about a foot and ahalf, with the occasional jet style. sooooo badass.
