Thumbs up I found a block-off plate for BAC...

For those of you who doesn't have their AC anymore and are planning to take off their BAC too, here is what I found from Kragen, a block off plate with gasket that fits perfectly. I'll take some shot tomorrow.

I don't think it has something to do with the emission stuff. You don't want to take it off though if you still have an AC or else your idle will die when you use it. From what I understand, the BAC valve increases the air when AC is turned on to compensate for the power loss from the compressor. Since I don't have AC anymore, I can just block this off and not worry about idle problems due to improperly working BAC.

Hey HENRX7, where did you find the BAC block off plate? Online or at a parts store? And how much was it? Also what are you going to do with the air hoses that run into the valve, just block them off? Let me know, sorry about all of the questions. Thanks in advance.

I bought it at a local Kragen store. I think it's only $5. And regarding the air hose, now that the BAC is blocked off, the only air inlet will be going to Air Bypass Solenoid Valve. I will either attach a small air filter to this and block off the opening in the snorkle or connect another hose back to the snorkle.

The coolant is not directly hooked up to the BAC. It's just using it for mounting so that it can route the coolant hose from the water pump housing that goes to the throttle body. So what I did was, re-route the coolant hose and ran it under the upper intake manifold.

HENRX7, I don't have my manual on me so I can't check, is the air bypass solenoid valve the valve that sits right on the back side of the BAC valve? Because if it is then I don't have one of those, because my car never had A/C. But my BAC valve still has two hoses going into it, I'll have to look where they go. I'll have to check my manual tonight. Thanks.
