Angry I couldent help my self!

I searched but it only gave me like a guide line I need to know. I know there is a **** load of post like this o well one more wont hurt. First do any of you all know someone who is always getting new cars. I know this guy that always gets new cars and is like man my car is so fast yada yada yada yada. anyway he is talking alot of **** about my car and it is pissing me off. I have been fixing my car for some time now and have not been able to drive it. Well when I get it fixed I am going to race him at the track. He has a 02 sentra se with a pep-boys intake, new clutch not sure what kind, and short shifter. he plans on getting exhaust to but hope to get running before then. I have a 87 n/a with remapped ECU with rev limiter removed, K&N filter with cold air box,MSD6a with MSD 8.5 wires, bonez race pipe with working ports, borla cat-backs , no emissions and A/C, new groundings. I also have 40lbs 17'' rims yea I know heavy as ****. I just want an Idea of what to expect I think I can take him but I have heard good things about sentras. Thanks for your input

He runs a 16.0 stock 1/4mile, you run a 16.5 stock. It'll be close, but your wheels are heavy as hell, is that 40lbs a piece? That's freaking heavy... You don't have tons of power to roll those that easily. I dunno, it might be close or it might not, just have to wait and see. But if you want my honest opinion, I think you're going to lose, sorry. The big heavy wheels outweight the reduction in emissions and AC. So you have remapped ECU (is that JUST removed rev limiter or other things too?) and exhaust with no cats. The ignition/wires/grounding will make things smoother and a little better up top, but wont make tons of difference, just no hesitations/stalling/etc so your top end is where it should be.

Bone stock? Bull... Got a timeslip to prove that? Because, well, mid to low 16's is stock for s4's depending on weight and model, I'm not so sure if I buy that your car was stock.

It has mild mapping changes to lean the fuel. It was programed for touring it was out of a 88 race car this guy had. As for the rims yea I know but the look nice I was going to use them for the street and use the stock rims with good tires for racing. What do you think I should get to give me a better chance I have no bills to pay so my paycheck is all towards the car. I was going to get a act street clutch and short shifter next.

You dont really NEED the clutch and short shifter, might be able to shift a little quicker but it wont make a huge difference. I like your stock wheels with better tires idea, get some of that weight off. I'm glad your ECU is more than just a removed rev limiter, n/a's run way too rich on the stock mapped ECU.

Some almost free mods that would help would be a ported TB and port-matched intake manifolds (check the archive it has the how-to, but no pictures unfortunately). Other than that there aren't too many options you have left without taking some time or spending some money (like a ported motor, custom sc, custom turbo, etc etc etc). Maybe get a lightweight steel flywheel. Can't really think of much more, except for free stuff like weight reduction.

yea I was thinking about the engine port. you also have to think about the stock exhaust. That thing was freaking heavy. The borla y pipe is light as **** and the bonez pipe was light to. I know it still dosent make that much of a difference. I guess I am going to just wait and see what happens. Hell I am just going to get the turbo 2 anyone want to trade there 87 T2 for my 87 N/A.

Yah, it's really hard to tell what's going to happen. I'd just wait and see what happens at the track and then go from there.

Hey my friend has a stock 2 door 96 civic but not sure on the year or type. Anyway he raced him on the fly and said he got beat by like a little over a half a car length to 80mph. They went around a turn on the access road then hit it so they started at like 20-25.My friend was also on wet road as TJ was on the dry part of the road. O and by the way my friend cant drive or race good he also weights over 200lbs so does TJ. I weight like 110-115 not that it matters that much but when I am in the car with him I can fell the weight hard core when he races. 1 hp pulls like 8lbs or some thing like that when you think about it it adds up.

Is your friend a girl? Cuz the only people I know that go through cars rapidly are girls, they get one, destroy it, repeat. My sister = 1 year, 3 cars.

If your friend starts talkin smack, pull out the "hey, i've got the displacement of a motorcycle and still make as much power" card. Shuts people up quick.

dude i think with all the stuff you have you should be able to beat a semi stock sentra. i have less and i can keep up and beat most of the cars i go against. My buddy with a heavily modded tiburon can barely beat me and his car can hold its own with some of the sti's he races

Man its funny you say that midnightowl we always say he cant make up his mind like a girl. Get this his first car was a dodge truck, then a chevy, then he drove his dads work truck. On his dads work truck he was like man this truck is so fast I am going to fix it up to drag race. We were like whatever and dident think any thing of it 2 days later he get a 02 v6 mustang. He talked alot of **** with that car just because he had a throttle body spacer and K&N. To top it off he went and got platinum spark plugs and 8mm wires and said that it adds more power he thought he was getting 5 hp because of the plugs and wires. This guy dosent know ****. Anyway now he has the sentra of course dising he other cars saying there crap compared to his new one. My goal in like is to shut him up and laugh in his face but if I lose I will congradulate him and then tell him I have a 1.3L. haha I love rotary power

My bud has a similar Sentra, and although we haven't raced, with his souped up suspension and exhaust, it runs side by side with my 91 NA with intake and partial exhaust. The race between us would be up to the better driver. If you stuck the stock wheels on your car, it would probably be the same in your situation.

I really wish I would have gotten a T2 but the n/a was free so I have no room to complain. This suck though I have put over 2,000 on this n/a 1,000 alone on paint and body work.
