I broke it this time :(

Alright so I bought this FC it needed a new alt, so I bought a used on off this forum. After some issues that really shouldn't have been hard, I got the darn thing installed. I charged the battery up, and I started the car... Me: "It RUNS, it RUNS!"..

Then before I could do my victory dance that is required the oil pressure gauge starts rising. Rose to the top of the gauge hit the top... car sputtered to a stop. And from my friends point of view white smoke out the exhaust.

So I let it sit for a bit then tried again, now it wont start at all. The engine just doesn't get going...

oh shitty dude..
pull the spark plugs, pull the first two inner fuses from the fuse block on the left shock tower
then crank the engine over.. see what you get outta the plug holes.. if you get alot of gas and oil could just be flooded.. hopefully however you didn't bust a oil ring

Does it still crank? Try a compression test if you do. You may have installed the alt wrong and shorted something.

Does it go all the way to the top just when you turn the ignition to the ON position? Installing an ALT and having your oil pressure skyrocket shouldn't be related.

yeah now when the key is in it rockets, and if you crank the car it'll drop to 60psi on that dummy gauge. I'll check for flooding in a little bit here.

It's possible your sending unit is fault, or the connection is dirty, that's usually what causes it to skyrocket even if the car isn't started/turned over/etc. Have you checked all your fuses to make sure nothing popped?

So when the key is in all the dummie lights are on, and it wont start. So I'm thinking something is messed with the Alternator. Would a bad Alt make the car just not start? The old one I replaced just wouldn't charge the battery back up, but the dummie lights didn't come on that I can remember.

I checked the fuses they seemed fine. I'll go over everything a little more after work.
Thanks for the help so far guys.

Reading through some other posts I believe now it was to be a fuse blown, I'm gong to go through them all again.
