Depends on the part, but many will work.

Let me know what parts you want, and I'll let you know if they'll work out for you.

The 87 had 20 less hp didn't it? Is the engine the same? I obviously dont know much about the rex yet I just bought it about 2 weeks ago and its in the shop as we speak; but engine or.....how many miles are on the car? maybe I should replace some of the internals like seals or something? what do you think

There is a 14hp difference.

'87-'88=146 hp, 138lbs torque
'89-'91=160hp, 140lbs torque

Your compression is higher, your rotors are lighter, your engine computer is faster, your redline is at 8k instead of 7k. There are many other minor differences as well.

My advice is, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." If your engine is running fine, (it should be if it was treated well) your engine should have another 100,000 miles in her maybe more. The best way to learn about potential problems, and to avoid others, is to join this board and talk to it's members. You've come to the right place!

good luck, you have a great taste in automobiles
