Noise from transmission!!!!! HELP PLEASE?!?!?!

Ok, I just bougth my 89 GTU and the tranny's making funny noises.

When I depress the clutch the tranny makes a whiny noise, but when I press it, the noise is gone. What could be wrong?

Sounds like a noisy throw-out bearing...&nbsp I would recommend changing out the pilot bearing (and grease seal) at the same time.&nbsp ~$50 in parts and several hundred dollars in labor...
