All you people bragging about "10 mpg while in the city and pedal-to-the-metal" dont know nothin' I -used to- get 9mpg in the city just driving around and something like 15mpg on the highway (of course always at double the speed limit )

Now I think my mpg is much, much better. I get something like 110-120km on 24-25lt while in the city, which is almost 12mpg, and I suppose I can get up to 18-20mpg on the highway....

Question Gas mileage

Hi, does an 88 NA RX7 SE have ports and actuators?

Thanks

yea my gas mileage ever since I cleaned my ports and removed the actuators has gone through the roof. Before I would be lucky to get about 120miles on a full tank (87 NA). Now im getting about 280-320 on a full tank.

Too bad both my vehicles are gas guzzlers. I need to go get a scooter or something.

Gas is ~1.70 here...rather unheard of.

I saved ~35 dollars this past week by commuting in w/my GF.

The NA has (2) peripheral exhaust ports,
(4) primary side intake ports,
and (2) auxiliary side intake ports (that open at ~3600).

The RX-8 has (4) side exhaust ports along with the 4 + 2 intakes.

it seems a little strange that removing the actuators would really boost mileage so drastically...or id expect everyone w/ an NA to have removed them. and 285 miles on a quarter of a tank (didn't someone say that) means yer gauge aitn workin FC's get between 16-24 mpg (city-highway) when new...modded old cars wont do better.
