89-91 Turbo flange?

Greetings,

I'm installing an 89-91 turbo on an engine with an aftermarket intake manifold. Unfortunately, the turbo hits the side of the intake before it seats on the exhaust manifold.

What I need, is a spacer to put between the exhaust manifold, and the turbo, to move the turbo about 1" farther away from the engine. Where could I find such a spacer? I've looked around online, and even called a few places, but nobody has heard of one. I guess I'm hoping that someone makes a flange that would be used to make a custom manifold. I've even seen pictures of one somewhere, so someone must be able to supply them. Worst case, I can always have a machine shop make what I need.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Mazdatrix.com sells the needed flanges. Either make your own spacer or have one made.

If I can find someone who sells the turbo flange, I'll use that as my spacer. Mazdatrix does not sell that flange. I called them yesterday.

Thanks,

Must be something about OZ. The picture I saw of one of these flanges, was from Australia, and there was one just leaning against the wall at the back of a workbench. Do they grow on trees over there

Thanks,

That's what I planned to do, but when I receive them today, I realized that it wasn't the best option. The exhaust holes in the header flange are about 1/8" larger than the exhaust port and manifold. Also, the mounting holes are HUGE, and the whole thing has about 1/8" slop in mounting. It was worth a try, but I'll have a spacer made before I use the header flanges for spacers.

Thanks,
