tell them its for a tractor and bring in the bad line/s
I've had people refuse to sell me heim joints rated for 4X the loads the tie rod ends they replaced were rated at because I said it was for a truck's steering linkage. They gave me the same answer.
I'd rather someone either proved my application was unsafe or supplied me the parts to make it work rather than worrying about being sued. The only way they could be held liable is if they sold the part under the assumption it was "fit for use" and custom **** rarely has any gurantees other than it won't leak under X pressure.
If the guy doesn't think his hoses will hold 300 psi (load + safety factor of 2) do you really want them on your car?

300 psi line is pretty cheap and commonly availible. That is gonna be way stronger than you will ever need.
Building a hydrolic hose to hold the absolute minimum pressure is pretty dumb. What happens when your regulator sticks and you blow the hose at 120psi?

i agree 100% why go the cheap way.
i am trying to find a way to do this now. seeing as there is only 1 shop in town and they know im doing it for my car.
if they are leaking where do they normally leak? on the flexable part? or the conections?
will i only have to replace the flex hose?
thansk!

The couplings are what typically wear the hoses out. They crack right where the coupling ends and the hose begins.... unless you have abraision or perforation from some outside source.
