HWO - tell me about your muffler/s

They are rotary specific right?

What are they called?

RXTION Ben on the ausrotary.com forums was telling me about these mufflers.

How are they built differently?

How much are they?

Where did you get them?

Cheers dude.

They are built by a muffler shop about 20mins drive from where i am. They are about 8inch diameter (the muffler itself) they are packed with steel wool which can handle the high EGT's that turbo'd rotary's expell. 3 inch inlet, 3 inch outlet, straight thru type design, they are $160NZ

No they aren't SS, IMHO, you dont want SS exhuast pipe or mufflers on a road going rotary, cause SS runs thinner wall, a lot of the sound gets out thru the side rather than out the tip which is what happens when you run mild steel of 2mm or there abouts wall thickness, they are mild steel, i dunno of anyone ever having rust troubles with them though, and most of the race guys over here run them, even the rally guys with evo's and wrx's run them.

the shop is Ultra Tuff Mufflers, they are in Mount Maunganui

She is so HOT!

Jarrad,
the pic of that wench in your sig file is awesome!

i'd be locked away for ever for what i'd do to her....

i was going to buy 2 HKS SuperDragger imitation mufflers from Streamline Automotive on Ebay (they are in Hawaii) b/c they worked out to be almost two mufflers for the price of *1* HKS muffler. they were SS, but i don't think their innards were stuffed with steel wool, or indeed anything at all for all i know. They just looked really, really cool....something the stock mufflers i have don't do adequately at all.

Sod the EPA!

Do you have a phone number for this place?

Also - does the guy make them in stainless or does he only do mild steel?

Cheers
