^^ ditto, this is very much an enthusiast car. If you are afraid to do your own work or don't know much about working on cars, then I might suggest against it. However I love my 7 and wouldn't trade for anything else. They are different, and its my style.

it is very much an enthusiasts car .i pretty much decided when i was about 12 years old that i was going to have an FC. any 20 year old car is going to have problems. so expect to put some money into it for a while to get it back to tip top shape. a newer engine is a great start to that goal however.

thanks for your opinions ... i love the rx7 , but ive never had one . it doesnt seem like a car with a good resale value . im thinkin about tradiin a 94 teg with jdm front and it needs a paint job for that rx . i seems like the rx's are everywhere for cheap . would it be smarter buying one that needs a motor and have one put in other then trade it for my car ?? or trade it for one that he says runs and drives fine ??

If you only have one car keep the teg. These are old cars and require complete buildup and care AKA downtime. One of my boys took his vert to a Mazda dealership to have the ohms checked on his TPS and the mechanic backpedaled stating "Sorry we don’t work on those"

DO it, you shouldnt have too many problems especily if the motor only has 30k on it.. If you know how to work on a car, then an rx7 is really no different. if/when you have problems if you dont understand it, come here search it up, chances are somebody else has had the same problem as you, and its been resolved 10+ times

they dont hold value like hondas do, but i assure you that a good condition S5 turbo II doesn't come cheap.

They are fine as a daily driver, you just need to keep up the maintenance.
If you are not well versed in automotive electronics, you might want to do some reading. This biggest problem with these cars is in the electrical system. Lots' of nagging little issues. If you have a good grasp on electronics you will be fine.
They are good reliable daily drivers. They are not without issues, as with any car of that age.
