How to tell a NA diff from a Turbo diff?

Might be buying a diff from interstate, need to know if its turbo or na? and if turbos came out non-lsd? As its a single spinner.

Heres some pics of it.

Thanks, Bryan

Did my 2nd Gen RX-7 come with a Limited Slip Differential?
Only the following USA model 2nd gen RX-7s had a LSD from the factory:
86-88 GXL
87-91 T2
88 GTU
89-90 GTUs (however not the 89-90 GTU)
It is also rumored that a few rare 91 coupes with both the A (upgraded the interior trim, added a power sunroof, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and 4 piston front disc brakes and vented single piston rear brakes) and the B package (leather seating, a CD player, and rear cargo cover) came with a LSD, but you should note that Mazda denies that any FC other than the T2 came with a LSD in 91). You can also tell by looking at the differential as there will be a LSD tag on S4 cars with a LSD.

This doesn't really help, would be nice if someone could just tell me what it is please

Thankyou

grab both axle stubs, and try to turn them in diffirent directions. an open diff will welcome it, an lsd will have resistance/wont allow it

you could also just measure the diagonal of the pumpkin you already have. T2 diffs have a 8" ring and therefor are larger than non-turbo diffs which have a 7"

LoL.. Than you already answered your own question. People above already answered your own question. What the hell do you want? From the information you gave, I would guess the diff is N/A. Or you could do what Crackheadmel said and measure the diff.

If we are so ignorant then ask your questions somewhere else. LoL..

Coming from a guy that cant read the faq and answer a simple question on his own.

let me help you.

TURBO's ALL had LSD.

so, check for LSD! If it moves in different directions like someone else posted, then its most likely open differential, thus, non turbo.

If it doesn't move in different directions, its most likely turbo, or one of the few n/a models that had it.

dont be an *******, and you wont get ******* remarks.

I don't see an LSD tag on it, so its probably not an LSD, which means its an NA diff. It would help us decide if you actually said whether is was an LSD or not.....

LIke the guy said above, compare the stud pattern with YOUR turbos stud pattern. If it matches..........done.

The wogs are gonna take over that place down there so fast it'll make your head spin. Ignornat Americans my ***. Well, maybe the native born ones. Then yes.
