You could pull the intake manifold to look at the ports and compare them to stock ones. Also put your fingers in there and feel the inside. There will be noticable difference.

to tell if you have a street port.. you cant.. because the thats on the side housings.. internally.. you can tell if u have intake manifold(s) ported.. by taking the upper piece off and feel the runners.. they will feel smoother than usual...however... the street port can be heard at idle... the tach will move kinda like a bad idle.. bouncing a lil bit.. and u can hear the exhaust tone.. like a car wit cams... it goes brrrr.... brrrrr.....brrrrr....brrrr....brrrr like the idle is bouncing.. thats u can u tell if the side housings have been ported...it sounds kinda like a bridge port.. but a little less.... if you've heard a bridge port... you would know a street port.. . hopes this helps

you can make a car idle smooth with a street port. My car idles perfect. The only way to really tell for certain is to crack open the motor.

You cannot tell a street port by it's idle.&nbsp ALL street ports should idle very smoothly.&nbsp A bridge port will tip you off with it's very cyclical brap-brap-brap idle.

Doesn't it idle higher to? Also does the redline raise a little bit or something?

Maybe on yours, but on a properly tuned street ported engine with everything working as it should, the idle should be perfectly smooth.

An engine may require a slightly higher idle after porting, but it's a tuning issue. Just because it idles high doesn't mean it's ported.

Redline is related to the strength and durability of the internal components. It has nothing to do with airflow. With a ported engine, you may be able to rev it higher before power drops off, but that certainly doesn't mean you should.

I recommend that you look at some ports on different engines. by looking at the intake ports with the manifold off you can definatley tell.

Do you have your 6th ports wired open? That may be the reason, when my 6ports were removed you COULD really hear the engine "brap, brap, brap..................brap.......brap, brap, brap....................brap", it was very NICE! My 6ports are working now and I don't have that SWEET sound anymore

Im pretty sure my engines ported but not possitive. It idles at about 750-800 right now and is kind of unstable at times. I get abou 16-17 vacuum at this idle and the car seems very sluggish off the line. I will crank the idle up one of these days. Does this sound like its street ported?
