No you don't. Take off the 5th and 6th port actuators and the intake assembly. Everything else on the engine can remain. I took off my stock manifold and replaced it with an RB header just yesterday. The bolts are kind of a pain in the ***, especially the one at the top/most rear of the motor, but it's doable. I did it with a 3/8" ratchet, extension and tightened them all with a 14mm wrench.
Jack the car up, too...It's easier...you'll also have to remove the under tray so you can see it from below.
Have fun!
Edit: The ACV and Air pump ARE in the way...along with the actuators, but you can work around it. It's times like these I'm glad I'm 5'5 135lbs, can get my skinny *** arms and **** in there. Good luck.

lol, Have fun is right. Have fun, and get an extension for your ratchet!
The good news is the stock mani(which i think you're talking about) is much more of an ordeal than the header to take off/install. Once you get that sucker outta there, the rest of the job will seem easy.
It's going back to stock that's gonna be a biotch for me. I can't even imagine getting that stock piece back in place to bolt up.

God damn it. You removed the 5th and 6th port actuators for that time. Unbolt it, if the bolts get stuck I cross thread a nut onto the bolt and promply remove. Its not that hard and simple when you look at it. If you're removing the LIM and UIM and even the air pump and **** you need to rethink what you're doing and how much work you're making for yourself.

i dont know why your having such a hard time ... i was able to take off my header (RB) from the top with basic tools. after you take out the 4 nuts ... you need to kinda pry the manifold/headers off. I was able to do everything from the top with just a little bit of trouble, but not much. I guess once you do it once you'll understand.
edit: the only thing i had removed was the intake (rubber hose and cone filter) but you might not even need to take that out.

On the passenger side of the motor, there are two solenoid/EGR looking devices. Kind of pointing to each other in a slight V. Those are your 5/6 port actuators. They are held on (each one) by two 10mm bolts. They should slide right out, then you'll be able to get to the top two manifold bolts.

Yeah. It's two bolts for each actuator, when you put em back on make sure you attach the little piece of metal the plunger connects to on the motor, though. For each one. Very simple to remove then replace. Gives you MUCH easier access to the top bolts.

You need to chill out. Giving advice without any knowledge of what your talking about doesn't help ANYONE. Giving false information is against forum rules also, check that out. Plus, what were you doing that you had to remove the intake manifold on a TII? I had a TII before and the downpipe to turbo connection was 50 times easier then my NA (took a half hour compared to 1.5 on my NA.
Plus I think you need to chill out and stop flaming me.
