How to set TDC.

Okay so i need to know how to tell when im at top dead center or to be more specific 5 degrees from i believe it is i need to time my car and i need to know how to tell when im at tdc. by the way it is a S4 T2.

there are two marks on the main crank pulley. spin the alternator nut with a large crescent wrench until you get the first mark to line up with the pin on the front cover.

then blam you are at 5 degrees btdc

Are you asking how to set the timing to -5 degrees, or when to tell that your engine is at TDC position?

okay new question how do i get the gear on the cas to stay were i need it as im putting it in.

Take the cover off of the CAS and hold the wheel with your thumb while you stab it. It may move a bit, just don't let it jump a tooth.
