Hey let's say I got a TII with a blown motor and a J spec engine. How much would it cost to install it?

Thanks.

Anybody tells u anything higher than $500 shoot em.....it is not that difficult takes all of about 1-2 hours to get it in.....the problem might be in the harness in connecting everything....but any halfway decent mechanic who deals with rotarys should be able to do it with out any problems.....

On the choice to pay somebody to do it or do it yourself. Make sure you think about what YOUR time is worth? For instance. I am a flight instructor. Me canceling a flight or two to wrench on my car is not that costly. My time is not worth to much. Now if your a high roller your time maybe worth more.

I see typical labor costs about $500 for this job.&nbsp If you're allowing the show to do other work, this cost should go down.&nbsp Shops don't like to be liable for products that they have nothing to do with - you show up with an engine and tell them to put it in, and they will quote you high for the job...

just the engine...$2,000.
The stock FD trans is basically the same as a FC3S turbo trans with a stupid pull-type clutch.
Now, this has nothing to do with getting the motor started...

No, it doesnt take 2 hours to change an engine.

maybe if you start with an empty engine bay, and complete engine with harnessses hanging from it.

but a removal and installation of an engine is approxamately 5 hours of work.

5 hours?&nbsp That's some lunch break!

47 minutes is my record to get the engine out.
I'd normally take an hour to put it back in...

I just did one like JUST NOW in 3.5 hours.
you MUST be pulling the harness too!

Im not.

im talking about changing shortblocks.

No way you pull a engine and leave the harness behind in 45 minutes.

If youve done it a few times I bet it possible... I can change a 12A in maybe an hour or so.. If I have everthing right there and ready to bolt on
