I've noticed a lot of S5 NA motors that have needed to be rebuilt at right about that mileage, even if not mistreated. I had one myself that died in 2000 with 89K on it that I'd driven since almost new (bought with 8K miles). Always had oil changes at 3K, never flooded, driven with spirit but not abused, etc. I don't know if it was a quality control thing, or the higher compression rotors of the S5. Some last a lot longer, but it's a little bit of a crapshoot.

Oil seals and other seals go bad over time sadly. Even if it sits for a long time its not good for the engine. They dont store well..

Had this one guy tell me he wants 6k for a vert 88 i think it was 95k And he said the engine could go another 100k. And then i was thinking , COME ON DUDE,

Nice car, However You know its only a matter of time before you need to spend another 3k to have the engine built agian Unless someone has alot of spare time on there hands

I never take my engine out whole like that....

I guess someone like too.. I always take the UIM off. And take the injectors off. then Undo the power stearing and tran and just take the block out. then i dont have to mess with the ECU wires and fittings and such..
