How much for a rebuild?
I'm just trying to prepare myself. I really like the damn car.
How much would it cost total to buy it and have it dropped in? And I am not a mechanic...
I started getting the add coolant warning right after I left the jiffy lube. The day I bought it. The dealer did a cooling system diagnostic and recommended sending out the (clogged) radiator. It was full of rusty sediment. They didn't seem to think the engine or seals were damaged. I'm not blowing smoke either.
I checked ArronCakes' Troubleshooting RX-7 Cooling Problems
I ordered the cap and thermostat (mazdatrix) and a new all metal 2 row radiator 150.00 Radiator Barn
The car is in such good shape besides this radiator that I will commit to the investment if it does seem worthwhile. I paid 800.00 for the car, and expected to put some money into it.
Then there is the AC to think about. It works, but it's the old coolant. I've seen some threads about that too.

I live about 15 minutes from BDC's house where he does FC's for a living.
You won't be dissapointed if you get him to rebuild your engine.
Since you live in LA you could just make a trip over here sometime to drop it off any pick it up when it's done.

Let me know if you need it rebuilt. Hassan and I will be happen to do a make-over on the car at his shop in New Orleans. He and I are getting more into the local (to him) FC crowd and we'd love to have your business.

Cool!
I just emailed Hassan.
I pray that it doesn't need a rebuild, but I would like to really go over it and see what the big picture looks like.
You are still quite far from New Orleans aren't you?
