1.25 onces per gal is close to the 100:1 ratio, and works well...

is an s5 tank 18 gallons? my s4 is only like 15ish.

most of the people i know use 8-10 oz in theirs..
i've seen a few of these motors taken apart and they look just fine as far as wear goes--nothing out of the ordinary.

wallmart... cheapest place I have found for the Gallon size of premix.

Carry a couple of 16 oz bottles of premix all ready to go. Each gas tank full/fill dump in one and you are set.

yeah ive been using the wal-mart brand tcw3 for the past few months and you cant beat the price. however, i think it may slowly scumm the injectors, so make sure to run a bottle of techron AT LEAST every 3000 miles.

i got a k2rd blockoff plate set for my car, so the s5TII omp blockoff plate. and i'll have to leave the omp electrically plugged into the wiring harness and strapped down behind my bumper. (thats the plan anyways)

i'll just leave the omp plugged in electrically and ziptie it down somewhere in my engine bay.

mark you say they have a 1gallon jug of it? sounds good.

why not just get that sump thingy from rotary aviation and have a bottle of premix oil in the engine compartment--that way it'll still be injecting the right amount at the right time.

i think they're less than 100bux even with shipping.

Yeah, I think I paid $5.99 for the last gallon that I bought.

Heck even the little 16oz ones are only like a $1.20

I found I got about a 1 to 2 mpg increase using .75 to 1 oz per gal, with my reduced flow MOP (S4 MOP adjusted to only inject at high throttle positions).

What have you heard about coastal? I have used it without any issues. I also find that their 20W-50 oil does not thin out as fast as some of the other more expensive brands.

it is actually MOP (Metering Oil Pump).

The MOP is located at the front bottom rightside of the motor.

On Pre- 89 models the MOP is mechanically driven, but on the 89 and later, the MOP is electronicly driven. If you unplug an electronicly driven one, the ECU will report an error code (hench the strapping a 89+ MOP to something under the hood, so that the ECU thinks it is still there, even though it is no longer hooked up to the engine).

Icemark: you mentioned taht you have the MOP set to kick in only at high speeds. Is there any way to have it kick in only during deceleration? I figure that would be a bigger problem since there is no air/fuel being used when deceleration, and that's the only shortfall i see of using premix.

There is no load at lift throttle, so you only need absolutly minimal lubrication injection.

Mazda does not even inject oil at lift throttle

REally? that's new to me. I thought that the MOP injected even at lift throttle, albeit only a little bit.
