My CS exhaust would be HALF as loud as a PP from the videos I seen. And from friends here on the forum they claim that PP are just mind boggling loud.

Like OMG! Loud!

If you want to build a daily driven PP, you need to spend a day at the import races, while about 20-30 PP's run. After that, you will realize that you CAN NOT make a street legal PP. These things are loud like putting your ear inside a top fuel funny car pipe, and telling him to "REV IT UP." They are just silly loud.

I drove with an open exhaust manifold for about a week while my new header came in, and it was deafening. You turn it on, all the car alams for a block go off. I only floored it once and my ears were ringing. Oddly enough, the cops didn't care, but it was way above anything you could tolerate on a normal basis. I'm not saying not to do it, just be prepared for the consquences.

That's nothing compared to a peri-port. They are just crazy loud. I only heard a 12a like that and all I got to say about it is wow, earplugs are a must.

My point (which it appears I left out) was that it would take mufflers to get it to that loudness, which would restrict output.
That said, my car has a large street port and a ported exhaust, so its louder than you might think. Still nothing compared to a street port, though.

nah, they not that bad. i think my friends exhaust is racing beat headers that is 2 1/5 duals with glasspacks on them, the it y's off into one 4" pipe right before the diff then hits some 60 dollar muffler. Its not terribley not i mean you can stand it. guy drives it 25 miles every day to work and back. got pulled over one time for the exhaust mostly because the officer wanted to tell him soemthing was wrong with his exhaust lol.. i dont talk to the guy much anymore we got into a small fight awhile back, but wer pretty cool now so i might go get some pics of his car. 83 first gen. full interior shitty *** summit rims.

Well, that's not quite true...

There is a local owner here (TYSON on these forums) that has a PP FD. I wouldn't say that it is daily driven, but he DOES drive it around town and in my opinion it's not horribly loud (two mufflers does wonders).

Within a week or two I'll be starting the PP 12A for my '84 GSL-SE. I'm planning to run a fully divided ehaust exiting at side pipes with ABSOLUTELY NO MUFFLERS. Of course my aim is to make it as LOUD as possible and **** off as many people as I can. I want women and children to break out into tears as I drive by.

Aaron, grow up.

That's not even cool to consider that option, you'd just give rotary peeps a bad name.

lol I dont know wide open exhaust riff ports make me happy.

On my stock 12a, I'd just seperate the exhaust from the headers a little bit. A self made exhaust leak. Made the car loud but it sounded insane. lol sounded like it made millions or horsepower. At idle anyways. Anything below 3 sounded badass above that it sounded like ****...

See, it's working already!

This car will not be a daily driver. Strictly an autocross and Friday night drag strip car. If you think that a loud PP is annoying, wait until you see the rest of the car.
