On the scale with like 1/8 tank of gas, no interior, spare, tools, or passenger seat, the TII was at 2650 (race day). This was with A/C and all emmisions. I'm going to weigh it later today, with the full interior, my new exhaust (no emmisions), removed A/C components and all that.....should be around 27xx. The sad part is my wife's Protege5 weighs less than the TII...Oh yeah and my vert opped the scales at a WHOPPING 3150 pounds, completely stock, 1/2 tank gas. So there.

I think that is the CAPACITY, not the actuall weight..meaning the chasis would be safe up to that weight...not that the chasis weighs that much.

Thats the maximum weight for the suspension, front and rear.

Your GXL should be under 2800 lbs for sure.

1987-1988 T2s weighed about 2870lbs, and the 89-91 weighed more like 2950 lbs
