And like I said, you do not get your money back on mods unless you remove them from the car and sell them seperately.

You shouldnt expect other people to pay for your mods. Most people look at modifications as a detraction when buying a car. You could get more for a bone stock s5 with good paint than for one youd modded...to an extent anyway.

Yeah normally when you go that light of a flywheel, and pull the cold start cam doing the TB mod, there is an issue with the idle, but I think with your slightly higher idle (only 100 RPM more than stock) it is taking care of it.

But a motor with almost 30K on it (and really anything past 20K) can't be considered new or just recently rebuilt.

And you never did say how many miles on the body.

You know I, myself if trying to sell it would ask $3000, but I would be happy to get $2000.

Remember you have a very limited buyer base that are willing to buy a car with all the mods. It will be much harder to sell than just a stock S5 car with good paint and a rebuilt motor. A stock S5 with good paint and a OEM motor with less than 100K miles or a rebuilt, and maybe even your wheels/tires would easy get you what your want for the car.

But the mods really bring down the curb apeal to the average buyer. Maybe even re-install the air, PS and TB cold idle cam... that alone make the car much more desirable to the average Joe.

Or spend $1000 and get a mediocre paint job of the same color... right there that will give your car radically higher curb appeal.

3000 bucks for an 89GXL with *158k miles!?*

i'm about to buy delta rotary's 91GXL that has 145k miles good compression and everything works perfect. totally stock, but salvage title from hail dmage (not very noticeable) with FD wheels and tires.

for 1700 bucks.

i dont know who would pay 3 grand for a *non turbo* S5 with 158k miles.

They way I see my FC and I, it is until death do us part. Modding it is only for love, not money. If you sell one which you put your heart into, you will have your heart broken.

Von, why not paint the car, get the idle issue worked out, reinstall the heavy flywheel, get some seats and plastic interior pieces from a junk yard and sell it that way? Remove the valuable mods and sell them separate, and return the car to stock as much as possible? It would be more work but you would likely do better trying to sell it to the average buyer, and probably come out a few hundred bucks ahead in the end.

Hey Nitrous man, what is with that temper of yours? You are a pretty cool guy until you start telling people to shut up. I had respect for you man!

its illegal to sell a car without being smogged first in california, and no knowledgeable person would buy it from you if you dont get it smogged FIRST. then even if they did, they cant register it without showing AAA the smog reciept! so that alone will scare away any normal person willing to buy the car... just ask for a cheaper price and get it over with...

unless of course you part it out!!! i think you could get well over 2k if you parted it out on the forums! and in case you do, how much for the pre-silencer?

Thnx ice mark...Yeah parting it out would be better definatly.

By the way im not going to sell it for anything under 3500 so therfore Im not going to sell it at all.

When you guys say wouldnt buy a car with 158k on it or 28k on rebuild isnt the compression that matters and not the body mileage because I could have swore in the last two years everything on this car has been replaced with new parts making it a new car besides the frame wich has to be fine except for paint.

I have put my heart and sole into it like someone mentioned wich is why I would only sell for so high. Considering the economy , gas , me going through colledge thiers so much more time in my life to buy another one someday wich is whate made me relize its not as big a deal but I will keep it. I took it for a spin last night to some import car show drags and attached a camera to the back. Lets just say its probly the funnest car I ever drove even more so than my friends miata. So I totally changed my mind. Nothing beats the driving expierience , its just that I get so many tickets and at this point in my life I have to figure out ways to be conservative and my rx7 is anything but that , I even only drive it twice a month and when I do get it smoged and drive it legaly I will only be spending 2oo on gas / month and getting more tickets. So I was just trying to think ahead. I dont know any other way around it. Cant live with it cant live without know what I mean???

88IntegraLS Yo you dont know who your talking to until you **** them off. Thats the only way to know who anyone really is I guess.

really wanna get some $ for yer car? fix whats wrong...lil interior pieces are easy to find on these forums, invest 1500 in a nice clean paint-job w/ factory color and make that interior and motor shine...then u'd be surprised at what people will pay for an immaculate NA w/ proper mods and a new motor. at that point though, id say keep it...fresh powerful motor, new S5 bodywork (so gorgeous) w/ relatively small further investment for a beautiful sports car in primo condition

lol it only feels powerful. Rage is a reaction to being hurt or personally attacked, which only comes with vulnerability. To be invulnerable is to be free from rage. Just because your NA is a slow fat pig does not mean you need to attack me for it.

Joking man, chill. I was illustrating my point.

Yo

Teg is right...Rage is a sing of weekness wich is why I always try and inteligently resolve the issue without being made to look like an ***. People on the street or the phone who become angry IMO look very stupid and is embarasing to be around or even wach. Yeah I got into alot of fights in my time but only when someone was so imature he couldnt listen to reason he gave me no choice. And thiers always walking away to.

Off subject.

list it on autotrader at 3500, you'll get bites. probably more so in southern california than other places. i have a friend that would have been interested a month ago, he needed a car at the time and was hoping for an FC. he ended up with a 240 because he didn't find a nice 7 around (blek). anyway, my car is an s5, i got it for 4k..yeah ppl say i paid too much but, no rust, still very good factory paint, nothing on body more than a few door dings, 83k miles on the whole thing, with pretty much a pristine interior and the engine still pulls nice'n'hard (for an NA) compared to other NA's that i've driven.

just my 2 cents.

good luck with the sale. if it were me i wouldn't want to part it out until i had at least tried to sell it.
