How much boost can i run
Hey guys my car is getting dynoed/boost turned up on wednesday. How much boost do you think will be safe in my car, its running the ususal exhaust and filter it has a microtech ltx8 ecu and one of the smallest front mounts i have ever seen its like 330 (l) x 240 (h) the car is on stock boost at the moment
ok here are the requirements for a safe boost application.....
1. upgrade the secondaries to 720cc
2. fuel pressure regulator
3. 255cc fuel pump
4. some sort of stand alone fuel system or piggy back
5. FCD
6. exhaust..intake...etc
7. boost controller..and guage that is acurate
im sure ive missed something but fill in where ive left off

I thought the ecu would have to be retuned but the mechanic said it probably wouldnt he was going to check the air/fuel ratio first. Its running the stock turbo, 98 octane fuel anything else u need to know?
I ran 8-12lbs of boost on the factory 550cc injectors, S5 turbo and a piggyback fuel system and it was safe. Just watch your air/fuel ratio, no higher then 11.5(somewhat safe) and your timing.
If you have factory exhaust that will hinder your performance even with higher boost levels. Start with 8lbs and work up listening for detonation. Have fun

stock injectors will support about 255whp in the high 90's duty%
edit: this is with a standalone and tuning of course. i'm assuming you're not a douche bag and i dont need to mention that. you never know these days

If this is still on stock injectors, I wouldn't try to push it past 10psi as then duty cycle would be over 85%. Which is pretty much the safe limit. But if you have bigger injectors, 14psi is about the limit for the turbo, with out turning into a heater.
