I have a 770CCA, I think its 840normal cranking amps. Its a bit overkill I think, but it gets the job done.

780 I believe, and I can crank the car for hours.

(Once again, edit for signature violation)

I got a 900 CCA (1000 CA) battery from Wal-Mart. I've heard that their batteries tested well in comparison tests, and this one has held up so far for me...I've had it for a little over a year now. Its a little larger than stock I think, so it won't fit in the battery box but fits on the tray.

Ha, I was always made fun of for my big battery, but it really does crank forever. I ran for so long without an alternator working, only had to jump it once. I think I drove around for another week after that with only one charge, hehe. But ya, barely fits on the tray.

CCA is a basically useless rating. Without launching into the whole explanation, what matters is a battery's AH rating. Unfortunately, manufacturers don't list that rating, only the instant current available from the battery (the CCA rating). However, in general, a battery with a larger CCA rating has a larger AH rating. That's what gives you the long cranking time.

Long story short, in general, anything over 500 CCA is fine. And it has nothing to do with what electrical accessories are installed in the car.

Some do, most don't. Optimas don't, but most Deka batteries do (because Deka knows that people purchasing their stuff want to know these things).
