how to install air pump?

ok so i need to install my airpump because when i bought it dude decided to take it off to get "better" gas mileage? but anyway i need help or a writeup of how to install the airpump, the belt and what not. the haynes repair manual isnt helping me. thanks

Is there another source? I don't wanna buy it just to put on an air pump because I alreadyhace th haynes repair guide

HOWEVER, if the car was run for a long time without the pump, you are probably also looking at clogged cats. Factor that into your air pump restoration. Make sure that you have a working ACV as well.

i know that it was ran for maybe 2-3 months without the pump from the previous owner and it was his dd. so if the cats are clogged how would i go about unclogging them and making sure my acv is in good shape? my smog blew a whopping 800 hc's and im hoping that the installation of the airpump would help me pass smog

Test procedures for the ACV are in the FSM.

You can't unclog the cats once they are clogged. They will clear up a little eventually, but basically are dead.

can u just take the belt off the air pump and have it run alright still assuming ur gonna chop out the cat?
