ok i have had some problems putting my air pump and ACV back on, and i was wondering how important are these peices, i have modifide and ported the tb and have a cold air intake, if that helps any?

 

your cat will not work with out them.. and will probably burn up fairly quickly too.

 

why do you say that? the main cat would have to be removed that should be it

 

I've hadthe same question myself I have no main cat, so can I just block off my ACV?

 

I have a block of plate over where my ACV went and my Airpump removed. I am also running Full racing beat exhaust with just a pre silencer. (no cats)

And it runs very nicely. All my rx7s have been set up this way.

Why are you having problems putting the air pump on/?/????? Its only three bolts that hold the bracket and one bolt for the adjuster for the belt. The acv has but three fasteners, two one inch hose and three vac hoses. Pracitce. If you need to have your car emissions tested each year, put them back on the car or prepare yourself to have to reinstall them prior to emissions testing. Air pump does not eat up squat in terms of horse power. ACV does nothing but help you. Zip in horse power loss. Keeps you from writing posts asking why your car backfires and pops during deceleration.
