How hot will a FC interior get?

I learned tonight that if you heat Macaroni & Cheese hot enough in the box, the cheese burns and turns brown, clumpy, and disgusting.

I had left it in the back of my '7 with the windows & sunroof shut for about a week. During this week, it was 95 degrees and sunny for a good chunk of the week.

Has anyone taken temperature readings to determine just how hot the back gets, or should I take an oven thermometer out there some day?

I don't know... but I had some plastic bottles in the back that got majorly warped up... won't even sit upright anymore heh.... funny when I took them out.

Good question though, maybe you should measure it someday. ;D Leave the thermometer out there in the sunniest part of the back then go out and read it quickly.

Oh, I've melted hot sauce bottles (left a nice mess where the hot sauce came out... my car still smells of hot sauce) to the point that the bottom was forced out, I've seen soda bottles come out of my car that were melted into a new shape... I don't know how hot it gets, but I think it's darn hot.

On a slightly related note, I changed my springs today in true redneck fashion... only wearing shorts...

My back is redefining the color red right now. The pain is bad enough that it's making my head pound like a migrane.

I <3 socal? F'no.

well i put a therm in my car once while living in florida. well b/c i have a glass moonroof, the sun made more heat than a regular FC. the outdoor temp that day was 92F with 80% humidity. the inside temp got 100F degrees. i did the same test with the reg metal roof and the temp the following day was 92F with 79% humidity and the inside temp got 97F. these were all done starting at 10.00am and finishing the test at 1.00pm.

i then did it with the moonroof with the tilt open, at that day it was 90F and the inside got to 93F. so i reccomend keep the tilt open if you can, noone can really steal your car thru there lol. my 2 cents

i always leave my windows cracked and my roof popped when I`m in the neighborhood so it keeps the car in bareable temperature. But even with the windows up it hasn`t gotten too hot. That`s one reason other reason why I like the color white.

but I ahve a black CAmry with leather seats, and that has gotten hot that it melted my cheap *** thermometer, and several empty bottles.

Ah. Right. Color. Mine is dark grey with a maroon/red interior. And no window tint.

the worst part is all the bloody heat that comes into the cabin

I live in a desert... my rexy has no A/C (i removed it)

and even at night I can feel all the engine bay heat drafting in the the car... throught the dashboard, the Transmission Tunnel, allover... I once put my chocalate on the "security" light/foglight switch area just before the arm rest... and the thing melted so fast..

I can't keep my phone anywhere near there either.. I end up putting it on the floor near my seat.. cuz that's the only spot that doesn't get sunlight OR engine heat

i tinted my windows and use a shade in front for when it's parked....

when i'm driving.. windows are down 24/7

i left a box of snow caps in the glove compartment for ten minutes. then i remembered and went to go get it. i reached in all excited and hungry and my hand came out dissapointed and covered in chocolate. No worries though, i put it in the refrigerator and made a snow caps candy bar... mmmmm....

is there a good place to get a hatch glass or a windshield reflector thing? maybe i just need a garage...

the main reason why it gets soo damn hot in our cars is all the dan insulation inside. once you wrip out the back carpet and insulation, the temps drop considerably. even ion the hottest days it wouldnt get nearly as hot as it would with the rear carpet in there.

In the summer in Las Vegas it gets 130 deg or higher in a locked car.. Every year a few children die because they are left inside a car for a few hrs

My old one. Black interior. Melted a radar detector. Melted tweeters on a speakerbox. It gets damn hot in there. It melts the driver now and then too. With the radiant heat in there I'd say it got to 140 or above in there.

Has anybody considered trying to put up some insulation on the driver side of the firewall to keep the heat out? Also, as soon as I got my car I removed the entire interior and sound deadening(good thing apparently). I'm planning on putting the carpeting back in there but i'm going to tint my windows you guys think that would help with the insane temps?

All I know is before I get in my car I open the windows and pop the hatch and let it sit like that for a few min before getting in. Black Leather seats burn my *** off. I think to solve a lot of problems I will get limo tint on the hatch and crack the sunroof. + Put up a windshield blocker thing.

I want to put tint on my windows、 but I`ve heard that if you have more than factory tint on your windows that you can`t take it on the track. Is that true?
