How hot are they suppose to run>

I drove my car with a water temp gauge today. During normal highway driving, I do 195 F consistantly. SOmetimes I go +- 10F, but around 195 is right. City driving i am almost at 210F. Is this something I should be worried about? It was only 50 degree out today. My car had never overheated before, but 210 seems awful high at this point of the year when I was only going through a little stop and go/. What do you guys think?

When I'm moving the water temp. stays about 188-190' If I stop the temp will go up to 210 when the fan turns on; then goes back down to 190.

210F with the stock viscous fan?&nbsp It's high and on the border on concern, but I wouldn't worry about it unless you start hitting 220F...

Yeah it is on stock fan, no electric fan. On the highway, if i am really on it hard. I can hit 210. I wonder why it is running so high, is it because i run a lot more water than anti freeze?

probably 85% water 15% anti freeze. I lost all of my coolant when I installed the gauge. I just filled it up with what I had real quikc. I am going to do a 60/40 anti freeze mix on MOnday when I get hoome. I mount the gauge at the stock location, could it be thre reason why it is reading so high?

It could be...really high water mixtures end up causing localized boiling points which the coolant surpresses.
