How high have you boosted?

Just curious to see how high the numbers get with you turbos. Has it ever been so high that you were scared? Just wandering for future reference.

Running 14psi.
Not really scary though, since its not even the sweetspot on my turbo (KKK)...could be running 18+

I drove my Isuzu once with the wastegate disconnected... no boost gauge, but holy christ in a handbag did it have some serious mid-range torque, at least until it blew the EGR tube out of the exhaust manifold and one of the intercooler hoses came off as well.

73-88psi boost in a Huey (T53 with 6:1 - 7:1 CR)

205psi boost in a Blackhawk (2 x T700's with 15:1 CR)

Boost isn't scary; I am.

I run 10 psi, but it skyrockets when I hit nitrous. I compensate for the added boost by running majorly rich on my wet side fogger. Its a crappy setup, but my EGT's like it.

Stock ECU and injectors.

Haltech E11 will be going in soon.

I've accidentally hit about 1.5 bar - you do the math .

Not to mention a mis-shift that got me to about 9,400 RPM Peak hold electronic doodads are cool, but sometimes they scare you .

when i first got my T2 put together and running my wastegate actuator wouldnt open the wastegate. i pegged my crappy autometer boostgauge. thats like 20psi i think, on a stock turbo. im surprised the engine didnt blow, or even the turbo.

In the Talon on race gas i pegged the 2.0kg/cm^2 boost gauge atleast 3 - 4 times a weekend for 1 - 2- 3- 4th gear pulls (28.44psi). Stock bottom end and stock HG with cams and ARP studs. On pump gas I was sticking it around 19 - 20psi.

There are some things I miss about the Talon

black FC, you wouldnt want to see it now. the retards that tuned it made it slower. on pump gas it couldnt beat Chris's WRX. the guy thar bought it let the local DSM "experts" tune it and the only way its fast now is when its on race gas.

i was running about 18-19lbs on my last jspec and it loved it only thing .....prolonged exposure to those levels tend to eat up stock s4 turbos.... just put in a s5 block with s5 turbo and ive pushed 16lbs so far without as much as a tick so we'll see how that turns out

Well I don't have a turbo but the VDI gives me about 1.75-2.25psi. Does that count?

19psi on 91 octane gas. I usually run 14-15 though, occasionally up to 17 if i'm feeling rambunctius . S5 TII with a 60-1 / E6K.... car actually makes less power at 19psi 'cause it's sooooo rich.

Damn! You guys run hellzaaa boost!! How long do your engines last. Im only at 8.2psi peaks to 9psi in 4th and 5th not sure why but thats how it always goes. Seen guys running 14 + and I hear later about a new motor in the works. But I dunno. How much can the stock Turbo and injectors take (s4) I think 10 is stressing them. IMO

Now I'm wondering. Are all yall guys running 10+ PSI, also running FMIC's?. I've got a **** load of stuff done to my S5, but have heard several times that I should'nt take it past 10 PSI until I get a FMIC and possibly a stand alone. So what's the scoop on this. What are yall running to go that high on boost?

Before I ported the wastegate on my stock s4 turbo, I'd always hold back at 10psi. Once though, when I wasn't paying attention, I hit about 14~15psi. The previous owner said he hit 18psi by accident right after he installed the FCD, lol. Now with a ported wastegate, and a MBC, I hold steady at 10psi. I want more boost, but I'm scared to go higher with my current mods.

Daily: 12 lbs.

One time I hit over 20 when MBC wasn't hooked up right, almost killed the people next to me when the tail got loose.

6-10 with stock engine. When I get the car back from MArvelspeed and broke in and tuned i'll probably not go over 15. The motor is being built to handle more but there shouldn't be a need to go more than 15. Your just lowering the life of the engine if you do.
