how hard?
Im 17, and i have a daily driver but i really want something fun to drive, so im thinking bout finding a Turbo II. I have never worked on a car before, and if i got an RX7 i know i would want to mod it, but how hard is it to learn how to do this stuff (keeping in mind i have no experiance), like mayb installing a new fuel system, intercooler, and other more common mods (im kinda a car newbie at the moment also)? also what tools are the most helpful, etc? Thanks alot!
If u will spend on tools more than on your car, u should have no problems since most of everything u will ever run into is documented in Hayes manual, FSM or here on forums. It just take some time to find it and they try it.
Because otherwise I'm sure someone in NJ would start a fund to keep you from buying a TII as your first car. Hope you've got some good driving experience.
As for working on stuff... I have just as much invested in tools I bought to work on the car as I do the car total... It helps is you have space (garage/shop).
Anyhow 2nd Gen RX-7s are great in that we have good access to the factory service manuals, and haynes, and others. Any when they all stump you, you've got rx7club with some real... geniuses (Icemark, Higgi, Silverrotor, RETed, ect...).
toing general maintnance on the car to be waiting up to a week for parts... that or expect to pay extra for priority shipping. Theres a good chance you won't be able to source parts localy.

welcome to the realm of rotorheads haha
Yeah a 7 is definitely a nice first car to own as an autox'r or just as a fun car to drive and work on to learn about, and like they said before, the forum can answer just about any question you have, or the service manuals, so definitely go for it and keep us posted on your progress!
