hahaha.... You frikkin' n00000b! (j/k)

Kit consists of this weird funnel/hose combo (with a lid for the funnel and a cap for the hose) that was like $4 at Schucks, a bottle of Chevron 2-cycle and a few random paper towels that I stuff in the funnel before putting the lid back on (to help prevent any leakage...

Pretty basic, ya' know.

You might want to consider a 1 gal. gas can and pre mix the 2 cycle fluid in it, then add to the tank, Use the AMSOIL 2 CYCLE OIL.. It doesnt seprate out or foul the spark plugs we used this in our dragster for years!

with the 1 gal gas can you can put your oil in fairly easily and make sure its mixed up nicely then add to the tank.. We have used the Amsoil in both the race car and the airplane... and no problems with sepration or fouling and its a 100 to 1 mixture so alot goes a long ways, if you get too much dont worry as its still OK

That's my method. Got a 16 oz. clear soda bottle (cleaned out obviously), add the 2-stroke oil, add a little gas, swish it around, pour it in the filler neck. No funnel needed.

EDIT: On second thought, maybe you do need a funnel. I just looked at the filler neck and noticed the little overflow holes in the sides and top of the neck. Maybe I've been pouring the mix out on the ground?

Question to the guys who use Amsoil.
What do you think about this one. Amsoil Saber Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oils, or is there something else I should use.
Just wondering if its ok. I still have my OMP working but with high miles I`m thinking about running a little premix also.
What do ya think.

Those overflow holes *do* go down into the tank, right? I'll go double check outside...

I have a gallon of WalMart premix (stinks to high heaven, but it's cheap, and I rather like the smell now), a 16oz clear bottle, a funnel, and I used to have a prop rod to hold the flap open, but it disappeared somewhere along the way.

i keep a quart of castrol TCW3 with measuring marks, a funnel in a HD freezer bag, and some towels in my storage bin

I pour the correct amount of tcw3 in a near empty tank and then fill up: usually like ~12 ounces for 14 gallons of gas cuz my OMP still works although not factory specs

thats my method

wait i forgot the part where people look at me funny

You dont NEED to, but it helps lubricate the engine, especially if the omp isnt working right, like he said.

I'm not trying to thread hyjack but this is somewhat related. The premix thing seems like a good idea. Has anyone ever tried an oil injection system like snowmobiles use? Inject oil but have a seperate resevior for the premix oil that actually burns well.

Aviator 920S in the Canadian forum engineered this OMP mod that uses a seperate resivoir and gravity to lubricate. It uses the stock OMP (somehow) to regulate. Its failsafe and pretty cool. He tried to explain it to me one day but I was like Blah? Instead I got him to engineer me a block off plate and I premix.

Premix gives that extra peice of mind.

i just buy the 16oz bottles of tcw3 from autozone and dump one in at every fillup.

and no, you dont have to hold the little filler hole flapper door open, it all goes to the same place. i used to think i had to hold that thing open when i poured the premix in and i realized i was just getting premix all over me.

SO, just get some 16 oz bottles, dump one it at fillup, and you're good.
16 oz is slightly under 1 oz per gallon BTW which is what most of us run (who are not also running the stock OMP)

it makes it easier to pour if you hold the door open

so you dont do any mixing? just toss one in and fill up
