Wink How do you make a turbo II really loud?

ok, I have the hks 60mm catback and a mindtrain 3 inch downpipe, stock pre and main cat. and my car is really not that loud. im sure it would be louder with a straight pipe, but im scared to thin out.......i used to have a n/a and it roared.

i know the turbo takes alot of the sound away........how would you get a really awsome sound?? like a n/a with a header and a apex gt series. i heard that setup and it was crazy loud. awsome though.

How do you have a downpipe and the stock pre-cat?

Yeah, turbo's do mellow out the exhaust sound a bit. My turbo 2 was loud as all hell with a downpipe, midpipe (no cats) and the apex'i N1 single. When you drove down the street, (normal driving too, not hard on the boost) it would set off car alarms. I put a high flow cat in there and it mellowed out a LITTLE, and putting the silencer mellowed it out a lot, and added low end torque while stealing from the top end and making the WOT sound like poo.
(you actually hear the sound of rushing air from all that exhaust being forced thru the small opening)

Going all straight pipes without proper computer mods is asking for trouble tho...

oneof the best sounding setups ive heard is a 3inch DP to an RB presilencer to an N1 catback.

hopefully when i get my car back up and running my setup will sound good. full 3inch DP/MP to GT-Spec catback. mines gonna sound a good bit different tho because my turbo is far from stock.

I am going to be getting in my Apexi GT series exhaust either Mon or Tues. I already have a RP downpipe and main pipe. I will tell you guys how loud this system sounds when I get it installed....but I say the louder it roars and the bigger the flames are the better the car. Just my opinion.
