How do I?

How do I get air out of the coolant system? Whenever I check the level, it is always full. The add coolant light/buzzer comes on minutes after I start the car and stays on for about five minutes. It keeps comeing on as I drive. I need help because it is not the most pleasing sound to drive to.

i do it an odd way (not recomended if u don't like to get burned a little) i fill it up the best i can the go driving, about 20 min later i pull over pop the hood and open the rad cap slowly you can here air come out and as soon as coolant starts coming out i close it, (i also make sure the overflow bottle is full to the very top of the cap) car cools off , and retops itself via overflow bottle, this works on my s5 and has everytime i changed the coolant (about 5 times now) for an s4 i am not sure its been about a year since i sold my s4 and all i rember is to use the bleeder valve on the left side of the radiator

note: i know this not the proper procedure but it works for me and i have never had my add coolant light come on after doing this

How is your coolant/water mixture? My wife has a 96 Ford Escort and I'm bringing this up cause Ford owns part of Mazda and a lot of sensors and stuff for Mazda can be found on Ford cars. I replaced her radiator and I had too much antifreeze and not enough water in it. If the mixture has more than 83% antifreeze, the check coolant light comes on. Just thought I might share that. Have you pressure checked your system? Make sure water pump is working too. If no water is flowing, it may think you don't have any in the system.

I would think initally, if you've drained/refilled the system, the low coolant alarm would come after driving, because of air in system. This should not occur everytime you drive the car. When cold, make certain radiator is filled to top, and overflow has coolant. Check to be sure when hot coolant from radiator overflows into the reservoir, and conversely, when engine cools, it is drawn back into the radiator. If this is correct, and radiator is full when cold, check sensor.

They certainly *could* have a sensor that tells the coolant percentage. I'm sure the FCs don't.
Now, why are you running all coolant?
