How to dissasemble center console/stereo
Ok, It's time to upgrade audio :-) I started yesterday to pull apart the console but can't figure it out. I have unscrewed the two plastic sides. They revealed more screws that hold bracket for the stereo but I don't see how the whole console can be removed if I unscrew them too.
Also, I have to replace the frame that goes around (form aircon vents to the shifter) - it cracked at the top. Any ideas?

use a crow bar..
lol no but seriously.. this would be a good time to get the haymes manual... b4 you need it for some more complicated stuff.. tells you where every little screw it.. unless your trying to take out heater core then it's 3 bolts not 4 (just aheads up!)

You'll have to remove the AC vents first. They're held in by 2 spring clips, one on each side. I usually slide in a piece of thin plastic to release the clip, and then pull the vent toward you. You can pry it with a thin screwdriver, but be careful. You'll see 2 screws that hold the top of the surround behind where the vents go. Then take out the ashtray. There are 2 screws under it which hold the bottom of the surround. Then just carefully lift the surround out. The stereo is held in by 4 screws (2 above, 2 below.) Slide it forward, disconnect the wires, and the stereo is out.
