Exclamation How to check if engine is siezed

how do i check if my engine is siezed, i just bought a 88 t2 and havent started it yet because i need a batterie and plug wires. can i check if it is without haveing to start it,
if anyone has any info please let me know asap.

LOL!! try to turn it by hand... Then soak it in MMo or ATF.. Then try to turn it by hand again..

if u cant turn it over by hand or with a wrench its siezed if u use atf to get it unstuck dont let sit too long as it will make the engine rust over time if it sits in there too long

Instead of ATF, you could just use 2 stroke. Won't eat away at the insides then.

If you use ATF, you'll need to start the engine to burn it off.

Yeah. I agree... ATF = Bad... Just use MMO.. and lots of it, I don't think its that caustic at all. Let it soak overnight and try cranking by hand again. Keep doing it until you can turn it over completely by hand. Because if you are carbon locked and you don't free it all up enough to spin the engine over, when you start it, there's a high chance of busting your engine up even more.
