How Can You Tell If Your Thermostat Is Still Good???
i need to change my thermostat and i have a used one im planing to put in but im question is how can you tell if the used thermostat is still good???

You can test it with hot water to see when it opens. Check out the FSM or Haynes manual for instructions.

Yup, use a candy thermometer (or any kind of cooking thermometer that goes high enough. Put that and the thermostat in a pot of water and turn on the heat. Now you'll know the temperature that the thermostat opens.
If the water boils (212 degres F!) and the thermostat never opens, you got problems.

For the cost of a thermostat, and the damage that can be done if it doesn't open, your better off buying a new one.

spend some money, and pick up a MAZDA t-stat, and rad cap. The aftermarket stuff has given me probs.

A brand new thermostat is lik 4 or 5 bucks!!

You can do it !!

Very easy to install as well.
