hot, cold, hot, coming from my vents when i have it on hot and also leaking coolant
i have done some research, but id rather have input from from people who may have had this problem as well, now for the problem, every time i drive to and from work which is about 17miles one way, all highway, my heat will go from warm to cold to warm and so fourth, about a min between warm and cold, and also, when i get to work or home, my coolant is somehow coming out of cap, like violently, and sometimes my gauge will fluster between about 1/4 and 1/2, when cold air is coming out, the temp of car starts to increase, but when warm air starts to flow, temp seems to go back to normal, im thinking maybe a backed up heater core, but will this cause the coolent to come out of cap? and before i drive to and from work i always refill, and the problem usually starts to occur twords the end of my trip and i hardly every drive it hard, usually cruise around 65-70, and problem i have noticed usually occurs at slower speeds, around 35-40 mph, thanks to anyone that can help

I misread before.. Check for water pockets make sure the system is full. Make sure fan is pushing good air. and thermostat isnt frozen. if you cant get it to settle down it could be a coolent seal. But water pockets can cause the air to expand and push more water out.

Sounds like you have air pockets trapped in the system. In addition to having two radiator caps (one on the thermostat housing and one on the radiator) their should be a bleeder screw on the passenger side top of the radiator (largeish phillips head). Of these two caps, ONE of them must be a pressure release cap that will allow coolant to flow in and out of the overflow bottle (the cap location is determined by which of the cap housings has the overflow hose run to it.) If the cap housing is warped/broken replace it with another (you should have one on your parts car maybe?)
Take care of the 'bent' piece first then follow the FSM or Haynes manual for instructions on how to air bleed the coolant system.
Though if this seems like too much work for what amounts to maybe 20 bucks in parts (check the for sale threads or ebay even) then you probably should sell the car before you blow a coolant seal from over heating it.
Though curiously, is the coolant that makes it to the overflow clean or oily? if its kinda oily or even looks odd, chances are a coolant jacket or seal is broken and combustion gasses are working into the system.
All of these are what if's mind you.

Sure.. they banned me too. over a lie. Or should i say Over reacting to misinfo.. Then i complained. then they started going after me agian over small stuff as pay back, i assume, They will ban you if you stand up and question them at all. Like the gastapo.
So imo You dont need to do alot to get banned in this forum. Just breathing the wrong way can do it. its sad, It was not like this with the old owner.. But greed and money over the vendors is most of it. But that is my opinion
