boost issue

my turbo will not boost past 3psi. 2 weeks ago (the last time i was driving it semi-hard) it would hit 8 psi no problem. now it flat lines at 3. ive checked for leaks in the I/C piping and i cant find any. turbo is running fine to my knowledge. and the wastegate isnt stuck at all. im really lost by this one. any ideas?

Old post... Anyway I had this issue multiple times. 1st time bov adjustment screw was loose and causing the turbo to spin like crazy but hardly making boost. 2nd time the exhaust manifold bolts loosened up. 3rd time the wastegate rod popped off. Also once a ripped coupler at the turbo. Only would let air escape under boost so no noticeable vacuum leak. Hope this helps.

When that happened to me, the link of the waste gate diaphram fell off the waste gate valve.
